             When I decided to seriously pursue a study in film, I had already had a long-standing love of the movie musical genre, however it wasn’t until I watched Gene Kelly and Stanley Donen’s Singin’ in the Rain from the perspective of a filmmaker that I realized that Donen and Kelly had created something different, something that set them apart from their predecessors; it was possible for the camera, and therefore the audience, to be an equal partner with the performers on the silver screen. That's what I wanna hear when I've achieved something on my list. Maybe I'll make it a sound bite on my phone or something. Woke up on time. Goooaaaaaaalllll!!!!

Brushed teeth. Goooooooaaaaaallllll!!!!!!

Got to work on time!  Gooooaaaaaaallllll!!!!!

But seriously, I've been fighting myself from writing down or truly identifying  my short and long term goals. Now, normally, this isn't an issue. I'm a master of completing something if I set my mind to it, so maybe that's the real problem. I'm lazy and scared and worried that this time I'll fail. Ugh. Ugly thought, right?

The world isn't bad. It just is.

Today, I reposted this on my fb wall and someone said "white people problems". Of course, I kindly reminded them that I am not, in fact, white (although, I admit, I sometimes forget. lol). But it brings up a subject that keeps coming up: We are over privileged, self indulgent and an entitled bunch of #$*#-ers. Well, okay, that's one take on it....

Perhaps it's naive to view the world the way I do, but I can't help it.  I do see what my friends see, but I don't believe that it can't be changed or that people are inhuman. I see acts of kindness everywhere I go. I am constantly inspired by those around me.
