Broken Rice (2026)
Louisa’s debut solo show as a writer and performer will be presented at the 2026 Vancouver Fringe Festival at the Waterfront Theatre on Granville Island.
Synopsis: With the grant deadline looming, Michelle faces the final and most dreaded part of her application: the artistic statement. Having put it off for far too long, she struggles to find the words to convince the faceless powers that be that she and her show, Broken Rice, are worthy of funding. Doubting herself as much as her art, Michelle embarks on a coming-of-(middle)-age-(with-ADHD! yikes!)- journey to uncover and rediscover who she is as an artist, a woman, and a human being. Um... there will be plenty of side quests, detours, and dance breaks along the way. And maybe snacks... and... Oh look! Shiny!
